The Kansas City Healthy Start program at Project EAGLE is part of the bi-state federal initiative aimed at reducing infant mortality and improving the health of pregnant women and children in the greater Kansas City area. Working as a team, a Family Advocate, Family Support Worker, and Outreach Worker aim to identify mothers in Wyandotte County early in pregnancy and support them until their child is 2 years of age. The Healthy Start program at Project EAGLE is one of 4 Kansas City Healthy Start sites in the Kansas City metropolitan area. The Healthy Start staff at Project EAGLE provides services to 60 mothers and their children annually.
