The Early Reading First Program prepares children in Wyandotte County with the necessary cognitive, early language and literacy skills for success in school. The program is a collaboration between Project EAGLE, Juniper Gardens Children's Project, Economic Opportunity Foundation Head Start and Grace Lutheran Daycare. The purpose of the program is to support the professional development of collaborating center staff in the implementation of evidence-based instructional approaches to support children's oral language, phonological awareness, print awareness and alphabet knowledge. Mentor Coaches provide ongoing daily support to teachers in the classroom setting.
